Kimi's Story

NANATARI was created to share my passion and skills for cooking and baking with others. The guiding principle is simple: when we enjoy food prepared with love and gratitude, we nourish our souls as well as our bodies.

Food has been my life-long passion. I grew up in a home where food was harvested and prepared by hand, and home-cooked meals brought generations of the family together. Today, I feel the calling to share the joy and fulfillment that comes with the process of preparing good and simple foods at home.

What's Behind the Name

The name Nanatari is a reflection of my Japanese heritage. “Nana” is the number seven in both ancient and modern Japanese, while “tari” is the suffix that relates the number seven to people. Seven itself is a very spiritual number in many cultures––as well as being a perfect number for a cooking class!

The Nanatari Vision

I believe that food is a link between Heaven and Earth. Sunshine and water from the heavens combine with nutrients from the earth to create the foods we eat. Thus, our physical bodies are manifest as the conscious connection of heaven and earth. When we choose to prepare meals with a higher intent––gratitude, love, happiness––we access the Universal Love that is available to us all.
